Sadder Star spans all forms of emo / screamo / emotive hardcore and its related subgenres, with an emphasis on lesser known 90s emo. Sadder Star occupies a unique space as Portland's only terrestrial radio show which dives deep to share rare and obscure emo with listeners.

XRAY is Portland's premier independently-operated community radio station and is predominantly funded by listener membership and small one-time donations, without any corporate financial backing. XRAY provides the opportunity for DJs to freely showcase their own unique areas of expertise in music and topics which rarely get air-time. Since starting my show on XRAY I have been able to create a community of listeners, shine light on largely forgotten music and introduce it to a new audience, support new artists within the genre, and most of all, deepen my own personal connection to the music highlighted on Sadder Star.
