Playing vintage, independent & new releases that fit the mold—Wildflowers & Weeds is a mix of folk, Americana, western, outlaw country, bluegrass, hillbilly music, blues, desert psych, even rock and roll & stadium hits (when acceptable). We feature a strong emphasis on female artists. Showcasing women currently creating in the field and exploring the careers of those that came before them. We venture past just country, we tie together new independent artists and new releases with classics that inspired.

I started my show a little over a year ago and it was at a time I had little hope left, honestly. When I started getting sicker over the past few years- I lost a lot of my creative outlets for processing grief and loss. I haven’t been able to sew, paint or draw consistently bc my hand and arm pain and fatigue. I lost my voice, my art, not to mention isolation from COVID driving me deeper into a dark space. My radio show not only brings a female voice to the airwaves but a disabled voice to the air too. In a world where disabled people are under represented and ignored— XRAY gave me a space.
You can do a one time donation or monthly donation to support this community. I have designed some Wildflowers and Weeds postcards (if you know me you know I love to send postcards) and everyone who donates to my page, or in the name of Wildflowers & Weeds, will get a set of 10 with one extra prefilled with my address to send me a little note to add to my postcard collection.
Radio is something that most people don’t think much about nowadays. It’s always in the background of our lives—in the car on the way to work, in a coffee shop where we’re reconnecting with a friend, or at home when we’re trying to unwind. We take it for granted that it’ll always be there.
But, we know this platform exists because of the people who give their time or money to make sure it stays on the air. At XRAY, there’s no endowment, no property, no angel donors to lean on. We’re on the air right now because people like you sustain our work year-round.
Without you, there is no XRAY. And without you, conscious community media might not exist. We’ve learned over the years from our peers across the country that a lot of people can be listening, but that doesn’t make the radio run unless a significant portion of those listeners pitch in to make the thing run.
