As a new member of the XRAY.FM board, I want to share my love of this community-driven station and the music it's passionate DJs play. Not a day goes by that I don't discover something new—from a new indie rock band to Brazilian psychedlia, to breakbeats to hip-hop, depending on the show. I tune in constantly and hope to inspire you to do the same. More importantly, we need your support to keep things rolling. So here's what I'm asking you to do:

Anything counts, but I'm hoping to personally raise $2500 to help the station reach its ultimate goal of $75,000 by OCTOBER 21. There are all kinds of ways to contribute, from one-time donations to memberships billed monthly. And we have amazing swag and incentives for donors, including a sweatshirt designed by the talented artist Tony Aguero. All the details are below, but PLEASE help if you can.

Donors will receive a request form to submit in immediately following their donation in the auto-acknowledgment email. Our system does not allow us to put those options on forms directly with this method of fundraising, so we appreciate your flexibility so we can empower our incredible volunteers to support the fund drive in this way! Radio is something that most people don’t think much about nowadays. It’s always in the background of our lives—in the car on the way to work, in a coffee shop where we’re reconnecting with a friend, or at home when we’re trying to unwind. We take it for granted that it’ll always be there.

But, we know this platform exists because of the people who give their time or money to make sure it stays on the air. At XRAY, there’s no endowment, no property, no angel donors to lean on. We’re on the air right now because people like you sustain our work year-round.

Without you, there is no XRAY. And without you, conscious community media might not exist. We’ve learned over the years from our peers across the country that a lot of people can be listening, but that doesn’t make the radio run unless a significant portion of those listeners pitch in to make the thing run.

Make sure XRAY continues to be a constant in your life. Not all of us can give, but for those of us who can spare $15 a month for a cultural institution—you’re doing your community a favor. Invest in your community today—and the people who make it—support independent media like XRAY.
